There were 1,716 regular military, 283 reserve Class A and B forces and 117 civilian workers at 17 Wing/CFB Winnipeg at the end of December 2005.
Present Functions
The current functions of 17 Wing/CFB Winnipeg are to provide:
- transport and air to air refuelling operations,
- search and rescue,
- a variety of training functions,
- support to 1 Canadian Air Division and Canadian NORAD Region HQ.
- support to operational units and schools, and to reserves and cadets in
the region.
