There were 4,260 regular military, 365 reserve Class A, B and C forces, and 2,203 civilian workers at CFB Esquimalt at the end of December 2005.
Present Functions
The current functions of CFB Esquimalt are to provide:
- administration and technical support to Maritime Pacific Fleet Formation,
- support to CF Fleet School and Fleet Maintenance Facility.

- The Canadian Scottish Regiment,
- 11 Service Battalion,
- 4th Canadian Rangers Patrol Group,
- Acoustic Data Analysis Centre,
- Regional Cadets (Pacific).
