There were 1,002 regular military, 127 reserve Class A and B forces and 227 civilian workers at 19 Wing/CFB Comox at the end of December 2005.
Present Functions
The current functions of 19 Wing/CFB Comox are to provide:
- surface, subsurface, and aerospace surveillance,
- search and rescue,
- transport, combat support, and contingency operations,
- core training in support of CF missions.
Operational & Support Units
- 407 Maritime Patrol Squadron,
- 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron,
- 19 Air Maintenance Squadron,
- CF School of Search and Rescue,
- Regional Cadet Gliding School (Pacific),
- HMCS Quadra Sea Cadet Summer Training Centre.
