19 Wing/CFB Comox

There were 1,002 regular military, 127 reserve Class A and B forces and 227 civilian workers at 19 Wing/CFB Comox at the end of December 2005.

Present Functions

The current functions of 19 Wing/CFB Comox are to provide:

  • surface, subsurface, and aerospace surveillance,
  • search and rescue,
  • transport, combat support, and contingency operations,
  • core training in support of CF missions.
Operational & Support Units
  • 407 Maritime Patrol Squadron,
  • 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron,
  • 19 Air Maintenance Squadron,
  • CF School of Search and Rescue,
  • Regional Cadet Gliding School (Pacific),
  • HMCS Quadra Sea Cadet Summer Training Centre.
