There were 1,902 regular military, 102 reserve Class A and B forces and 373 civilian workers at 4 Wing/CFB Cold Lake at the end of December 2005.
Present Functions
The current functions of 4 Wing/CFB Cold Lake are to provide:
- surveillance, protection and defence of North American airspace,
- support to the NATO Flying Training Centre and cadets in the region.

- Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment.
