Joint Support Ship

The capabilities required of the Joint Support Ships are crucial to the Canadian Forces. The Joint Support Ship will enable a Naval Task Group to remain at sea for up to six times longer than is currently possible. These vessels will provide core replenishment capabilities, plus added capacity for sealift and increased support to troops ashore.

These large ships will contribute significantly to increased domestic maritime security as called for in the Canada First Defence Strategy, They will also serve to reinforce Canada's global presence while supporting our nation's foreign policy objectives.
