Wainwright, Alberta - A convoy of LAV-25 Coyote reconnaissance vehicles during Exercise Maple Resolve in Wainwright, Alberta on October 23, 2012.

Some of the 3000 Canadian Forces (CF) members from the Army and Air Force along with United States soldiers will be deployed to Canadian Forces Base Wainwright to participate in Exercise Maple Resolve.

Exercise Maple Resolve is a month long exercise held in October by the 5th Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5CMBG) from Valcartier, QC. The exercise will provide valuable training to CF members should any request for deployment arise in the coming year.

Light Armoured Vehicles (LAV) III undergoes testing activities at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown.

Light Armoured Vehicles (LAV) III undergoes testing activities at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown. These vehicles were built to test the various upgrades that are planned for the fleet as part of the LAV III Upgrade project. The LAV III UP project is now entering the implementation phase, which consists of an upgrade to the mobility systems and the weapon system, and installing additional armour, strengthening its protection against increased threats. The project will upgrade 550 LAV IIIs, with an option for an additional 80, extending their lifespan to 2035.
