Retention
"This is one of the best times to be in uniform. We're growing, we're modernizing, and we're caring for our men and women in uniform. We're caring for our ill and injured, we're caring for their families."
General Natynczyk, Chief of Defence Staff
The CF is working hard to overcome challenges related to the
recruitment and retention of military personnel.
Since 2005, the CF has benefited from a renewed commitment from the federal government and significant increases in funding to grow and transform Canada's military.
The CF has recently developed the Canadian Forces' Retention Strategy and is striving to reduce attrition by fostering a culture of retention and commitment. This new culture will place a renewed emphasis on recognition, fairness, consideration and respect for members and their families.
The new Retention Strategy is scheduled to be fully implemented by December 2011.
